Benefits To The Community And Environment

Well designed golf courses can benefit the Community and Environment.

Environmental awareness, government regulation, and the benefits of sound environmental practice has seen marked changes in golf development and in the golf course design profession in the past 10 -20 years.

Golf Courses are recognised for their conservation value and for being integral in the preservation and enhancement  of indigenous flora and fauna.

While the SAGCA cannot hope to solve the world’s environmental issues, we acknowledge that a significant responsibility lies with all of us to act at the local and project level in addressing these issues.

As designers we are an important part of the process in the protection of the environment, in its enhancement and the final project outcomes.

The Society of Australian Golf Course Architects have formulated this brochure as an indication of their philosophy and general practice, with the full support and acknowledgment of the Australian Golf Union.
